Ahimsa Independence Services is a Colorado-based provider committed to helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities build meaningful, self-directed lives in their communities. Based in Brighton, our team provides person-centered services throughout the Denver metro area and surrounding communities. Our services include Individual Residential Services and Supports (IRSS), Supported Community Connections, Supported Employment, Mentorship, and employment services through Colorado DVR. We believe effective support begins with getting to know the person, not simply the service being authorized. Our team takes time to understand each member’s goals, strengths, communication style, preferences, support needs, and conditions for success. From there, we build individualized supports that promote dignity, choice, independence, skill development, and meaningful community participation. Our approach emphasizes consistency, relationship-building, practical skill development, and collaboration with members, families, guardians, case managers, behavioral providers, and other members of the support team. We are comfortable supporting individuals with a wide range of behavioral, medical, communication, and supervision needs and work to match each member with staff who can support them effectively.
