Ability Access offers Mentorship, Supported Employment, Supported Community Connections (SCC), and Transportation services to help individuals build independence, reach personal goals, and actively participate in their communities.
Ability Access provides services that are client driven, goal oriented, and person centered, delivered by a team of qualified mentors and providers. Each staff member brings unique expertise to support independence, confidence, and long-term growth. Our team includes professionals with backgrounds in education and advocacy, allowing us to design individualized learning paths that help clients achieve a wide variety of goals. Our Supported Community Connections (SCC) program is a cornerstone of what we do, offering structured day services that foster community involvement, social interaction, and personal growth. SCC activities are designed to help individuals build meaningful relationships, develop new skills, and participate fully in community life. Whether through volunteering, recreational opportunities, or group learning experiences, SCC helps individuals increase independence while staying engaged in their communities. Non-Medical Transportation (NMT) ensures clients can reliably access the opportunities available to them. We provide safe and dependable transportation to community activities, day programs, medical and dental appointments, and other destinations that support independence and participation. By removing barriers to mobility, NMT makes it possible for individuals to benefit fully from all other services. Mentorship is focused on teaching and strengthening self-advocacy, giving individuals the tools to speak up for themselves, understand their rights, and make informed decisions. Clients also receive support in navigating essential and often complex areas of life. This includes guidance with SSI benefits, housing and homelessness, setting up trusts, and working with attorneys and courts on legal matters. Parents with disabilities benefit from mentorship around their children’s medical care, school supports, and legal responsibilities, ensuring they have the knowledge and confidence to advocate effectively for their families. We also assist with medical and dental appointments by helping clients prepare, make decisions, and understand details from provider visits. Additional mentorship includes financial literacy, health and safety decision-making, and connecting with community resources. Supported Employment helps individuals explore career interests, prepare for the workforce, and succeed on the job. Our team provides coaching and resources that promote workplace confidence, independence, and long-term success. Every service is outcome-driven and rooted in instruction, modeling, advising, and meaningful experiences. By centering the client’s voice and goals, Ability Access creates opportunities that build capacity, strengthen self-determination, and support long-term stability and success.
