Soul Dogs, Inc. provides behavioral, mentorship, supported employment, and dog training education to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities and autism.
Soul Dogs, Inc. was founded in 2019 under the guidance, direction, and hope of Chris Anderson. As a professional in the field of social work, mental health, and behavioral health for 45+ years, Chris recognized that the connection between humans and animals had a great impact on healing from trauma. Though Chris had started multiple Program Approved Service Agencies (PASAs) she had yet to start a program that could focus on that human/animal relationship. Thus, Soul Dogs, Inc. was brought into existence. Our Dog Training Academy provides education for adults with disabilities and members of the community to learn about proper care, training, and handling of dogs. Our Supported Employment department guides and connects consumers to competitive integrated employment in their community. Our Behavior Services department guides consumers through trauma, relationships, behaviors, coping skills, and mental health challenges to support them in understanding who they are now and who they may wish to become. Soul Dogs, Inc has a group of dogs in training that are present for all our consumers that visit our main site. They are brought into sessions to provide that inspiring connection that allows them to be truly open and allow for communication and healing.
